A small design studio for board game components
Fjord Labs is a workshop near a Swedish lake, surrounded by forest, where we design and 3D-print upgrades for the games we actually play — resource tokens, inserts, organisers and trackers that replace the flat cardboard in the box.
Every product here exists because something in a game annoyed us first.
How a product happens
We're not a factory picking up licences. The whole thing runs on us being irritated by our own board games.
It starts at our table
We play the game — a lot. The idea only becomes a product when something in the box keeps annoying us. Cardboard chits that feel flat after the fiftieth game. Cubes that slide the moment someone knocks the table.
We design it ourselves
Every model is drawn from scratch to fit the specific game — the exact insert footprint, the exact token dimensions, the colours the game already uses. Nothing is a generic shape with a new label on it.
We print it in Sweden
Made to order in our own workshop, not warehoused in bulk. That means we can revise a design the week we find a better version of it, rather than sitting on a pallet of the old one.

Why we write 65 guides we don't charge for
Because we've had the same arguments you have. Whether a farmer scores in Carcassonne. What the ×2 card actually multiplies in Flip 7. Whether to start with Gloomhaven or Jaws of the Lion. We spent the evenings searching for those answers and mostly found forum threads from 2014.
