When Can You Reroll the Birdfeeder?

Whenever you're about to take food from the birdfeeder and all the dice still in it show the same face, you may gather all five dice — including the ones already taken out — and reroll them. That includes the case where a single die is left. The reroll is optional, and you can do it again between dice if you're gaining several food in one action and the feeder ends up all-matching again. If the feeder is completely empty, you always reroll all five.

Does the birdfeeder reset between rounds?

No. Nothing happens to the birdfeeder at the end of a round. The dice stay exactly as they are until someone takes them or a reroll is triggered.

How the Birdfeeder Works

Setup: Roll All 5 Dice

At the start of the game, roll all 5 food dice into the birdfeeder (dice tower). The faces showing are the available food.

Gain Food Action

When you take the "gain food" action (forest row), you pick one die from the birdfeeder per food you gain. Take the matching food token from the supply.

The Reroll Rule

If at any point all remaining dice in the birdfeeder show the same face, you may (but don't have to) reroll all five dice before taking food. This prevents one food type from dominating.

Empty Feeder

If the birdfeeder is completely empty when you need to take food, reroll all 5 dice back into it.
